Lord Lieutenant to host Queen's Platinum Jubilee event at Beaumanor Hall.
There’s still time for county and city residents celebrating their 70th birthday this year to receive a special invite to a celebratory event as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Michael Kapur, the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, will be hosting the ’70 at 70’ garden party on Tuesday, 31 May at Beaumanor Hall, Woodhouse near Loughborough.
Numbers are limited - there are only 70 invitations – and nominations can be submitted by individuals themselves, family, friends or by someone in the community as set out in the criteria below. The closing date of Friday, 1 April is fast approaching.
The invitations will go out to individuals who live in Leicester city or in the county and who were born in 1952, the same year as Her Majesty the Queen’s accession to the throne.
"We’ve received many nominations so far, and it's been truly inspiring to read the stories behind those nominations. The closing date to submit your nominations is fast approaching, so now is the time to get them in"
Michael Kapur, Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire
